Q1. What would you like the Amira community to know about your business?
CyanoGuard’s mission is to help the mining industry become more sustainable and efficient. Our reliable, user-friendly, real-time cyanide monitoring solution offers mining companies a way to improve precious metal recoveries, optimize cyanide usage, minimize toxic reagent usage, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Ultimately, we want to empower everyone to optimize their cyanidation process digitally and make a data-driven decision.
Q2. What is the problem that, if solved, would make the biggest difference in our industry?
Experts estimate that more than 30 billion USD worth of gold are lost to tailing every year due to a lack of reliable process monitoring and optimization technology. We want to solve this problem and help mines to maximize their gold recoveries and minimize their environmental footprint.
Q3. What do you think are the greatest challenges to successful collaboration and how can they be overcome?
The biggest challenge we encountered was the lack of clear and honest communication. We overcame it by being straightforward and transparent in our relationships with mines. We are committed to always offering the best customer support and being there for our clients in case they have any doubts or need more guidance.
Q4. Innovation has its origins in addressing challenges and leveraging R&D – what are your success stories?
The science behind our technology was born in the labs of the University of Zurich. At the very beginning, it was just a theoretical paper and a dream of a few people.
Now, we have brought this solution to our clients all around the world and are there with them and trying to solve one of the biggest challenges in the mining industry, which is process optimization for the gold mining industry.
Q5. From whom do you draw your greatest inspiration?
Our greatest inspiration comes from our team itself and our brainstorming sessions. We have an amazing team of inspiring chemists, biotechnicians, engineers, designers, marketers, business developers and geologists, and all of them are contributing to our product development and inspiring new ideas.
