Hydrocyclone – Classification Enhancement Program
Project Number: P1268
Status: Open to sponsors
Amira Program Manager: Olga Verezub
Led by FloCEP, P1268 is focused on improving hydrocyclone separation efficiency by using the energy of the flow to enhance disengagement of fines from the concentration of coarse particles destined for the underflow, and increasing the effective utilisation of the hydrocyclone volume available for fines separation.
Hydrocyclones are one of the most important items in processing, and one of the least improved items in process plants today. Through the successful development of this technology, applied to existing hydrocyclones, we can achieve immediate gains in plant efficiency and more importantly, a reduction in emissions.
Key Sponsor benefits will include:
- Reduced energy consumption leading to greener processing – achieved from reduction in energy wastage per unit milled through reducing unnecessary over-grinding of fine ore
- Increased production rate for low capital expenditure – from higher mill throughput achieved by increasing effective mill capacity through reducing over-grinding
- Increased product value from ore– achieved from higher recovery of value per unit ore milled through reduction in unrecoverable mineral fed to extraction processes.
The project is currently seeking expressions of interest from sponsors. Please contact Amira’s Program Manager Olga Verezub at labol1680068831g.ari1680068831ma@bu1680068831zerev1680068831.aglo1680068831 for more information.
