Amira Global and its collaborative partners, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and JetRom provided a practical, competence-based skills transfer at the AngloGold Ashanti(AGA) Siguiri processing plant. This training in the first instance focused on the basic concepts of milling, classification and gravity operations for about 100 staff including supervisors, technician and operators. In addition, a gap analysis on the selected nominees’ experience and level of preparedness for operating the various units was performed.

The Amira skills transfer in mineral processing initiative continues to deliver value for the mining companies in comminution, flotation, carbon management, elution, metallurgical laboratories, amongst others. Training is customised to suite individual plant and operation requirement for all level of staff.
