Amira Global is pleased to announce that the Expression of Interest (EOI) is now open for Project P1262A: Holistic Dynamic Ground Support – Analysis, Design, Monitoring, and Optimisation.

This three-year collaborative research project builds on the success of the Amira P1262 Mine Seismicity Program, which is currently in its final year. While P1262 has focused on forecasting seismicity, P1262A extends these outcomes into practical, real-world application, addressing ground support challenges in seismically active underground mining environments.

Project P1262A is designed to deliver practical and implementable outcomes that support underground operations to optimise ground support performance, improve safety in rockburst-prone environments, and reduce costs associated with over-supporting. The project takes a holistic approach, integrating analysis, design, monitoring, and optimisation to improve decision-making and confidence in dynamic ground conditions.

Participating sponsors will benefit from early access to a holistic ground support design framework, along with a ground support review and optimisation study for one nominated site. The project will also provide guidance on the planning and design of smart, real-time monitoring systems, enhanced StopeX features with lifetime access, and usage credits on Cavroc’s Aurora platform. In addition, sponsors will gain access to comparative datasets on dynamic-capable ground support systems, with the potential to achieve 10–20% ground support cost savings at a sponsor site.

Expression of Interest process

The EOI process will inform the development of the full project proposal, which will be refined based on industry feedback. Amira Global strongly encourages interested organisations to participate in the EOI and help shape the project scope, deliverables, and outcomes.
