The Amira P1369 research initiative aims to revolutionise lithium production by creating lithium product precursors from primary sources like hard rock minerals and brines followed by lithium refining and production of high purity battery-grade lithium products.
The project leverages a new extraction method that focusses on enhancing recovery rates by 20%, reducing costs and waste, and improving processing efficiency and lithium purity. This technology will also minimise environmental impact and raise the lithium industry ESG credentials by decreasing waste and using environmentally friendly reagents instead of current energy-intensive processes.
The project aims at commercial readiness within 2 to 4 years.
This project focuses on innovating lithium extraction by utilising patented processes and opportunities developed as part of the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre (FBI CRC) project that initially focused on lithium beneficiation and chemical processing.
The Amira P1369 project fosters collaboration among top-tier researchers and industry experts, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices while ensuring that the outcomes are both innovative and practical.
We are moving very fast with the aim of kicking-off the Amira P1369 project in June/July 2025. Hence, there may be limited spaces for new sponsors to participate in this “Game Changer” initiative.
