Geoscience Framework
The geoscience framework represents a visualisation of the way Amira has been working for over 60 years in the geoscience space, producing a variety of project and program types. Within the framework, there is space for projects ranging from the longer-term precompetitive series to short-term, more applied projects. Within the framework, Amira can identify and govern complimentary projects with synergies and ensure responses to our industry’s most pressing challenges.
- Long-term, multi-sponsor, pre-competitive projects that work with government, academia and industry sponsors to generate new data, knowledge and understanding at a regional scale, beyond traditional (e.g. political, company tenure) boundaries. Includes development of global analogues, leveraging learnings from medium to long-term exploration on a global scale.
- Medium to long-term initiatives that create specific knowledge on mineralisation styles or at deposit scale. Typically, it involves collaboration between industry and academia.
- Short to medium-term projects that are typically more applied in nature (i.e. higher TRL) and specifically involve the development of new technology, products or workflows intended for immediate impact and adoption. This may include translational adoption of technologies from other sectors. These projects typically include academia, service providers and industry sponsors.
Created with a focus on our members needs, emerging opportunities and advancement of the sector, the framework represents projects from a variety of global institutions, with regional focusses across the global and application across multiple mineralisation styles. Reaching across these project columns are the Amira ‘evergreens’ of data, knowledge, capacity uplift, our very popular Exploration Managers’ Conference and capacity uplift.
