Amira Global Member Oz Minerals has invited fellow Members to join its latest Think & Act Differently challenge: Scalable and Adaptable Mining.
OZ Minerals and challenge partner, Inspire Resources, are seeking to identify solutions, technologies and systems that can contribute to the development of a scalable and adaptable approach to mining.
OZ Minerals MD and CEO Andrew Cole, who launched the challenge at Austmine 2021 Conference and Exhibition in Perth last week, said that the challenge was investigating a new approach to mine design.
“OZ Minerals has an aspiration that our assets are scalable and adaptable,” Mr Cole said.
“We would like to explore solutions that are modular, scalable, and transferable to a mining context,” he said.
By employing such mining and processing methods, we believe we can unlock numerous benefits including: the potential to access new deposits, accelerating the development of our projects, lowering our impact, opening alternate ownership models and the ability to respond rapidly to volatility and uncertainty during the life of a project.”
The challenge is open until 22 Jul 2021.
