Meet our Board Members

Vaughan Chamberlain is the Chair of the Amira Africa Board.

Mr Chamerlain is the Senior Vice President: Strategic Planning and Technical at AngloGold Ashanti. with a demonstrated history of working in the mining & metals industry. He is skilled in mineral exploration, geology, sampling, geostatistics, mining, geometallurgy and metallurgy. Mr Chamberlain has a Master of Engineering (MEng) focused in Mining from University of the Witwatersrand.

Mr Anthony Mukutuma is the General Manager Kansanshi Mine at First Quantum Minerals. Mr Mukutuma has 25 years’ experience in operations and management of mineral processing and hydrometallurgical plants. This covers business development, research and development, design and design optimisation, commissioning, process optimisation (including de-bottlenecking), operations management, business performance improvement and talent development. He holds a B.Eng. (Hons) Chemical Engineering with Minerals Engineering from the University of Birmingham and an MBA (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Liverpool.

Yves Ilunga is CEO of MUMI SARL, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mr Ilunga has over 20 years of experience in the mining industry. He previously worked with MMG, Endeavour Mining on their Houndé Project, and was Chief Financial Officer of Sierra Rutile Limited. He also worked for AngloGold Ashanti and De Beers Consolidated Mines in Ghana, Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Africa.  Mr Ilunga is an Associate of the College of General Accountants at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business of the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Dr Kwasi Ampofo is Head of Metals & Mining at BloombergNEF, has a PhD from The University of Queensland, and gained his formative qualification at University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa. Ghana. Kwasi has had roles with GOLD FIELDS, Anglo American and Nous Group.  Dr Ampofo is also the newest member of the Amira Global Board.
