At the beginning of 2021 Amira introduced its Annual Rhythm and Cadence map.  This provides a shared touchpoint of activities and focus we have with our members and the wider ecosystem, as well as a sense of the internal governance focus areas we are addressing.

Towards the end of 2020, we opened our first call for short form proposals for the Amira Future Tailings Program.  This has stimulated a wonderful dialogue with Amira Members and our global research base.  We have welcomed interest from new contributors across the globe (Europe, North America, LATAM, Australia and Africa).  This call closed at the end of February and the Amira team is preparing an R&D program in Tailings to be presented for review and prioritisation by the Amira Member Tailings Collaboration.  Submissions identified for further exploration will be further developed and presented to Amira Members at our inaugural R&D Forum in April.

The theme for this year’s 24hr Muster (in May) is “Energy, Emissions & Electrification”.  The 24hr Muster provides an opportunity for the world to showcase global thought leadership and developments in research, technologies and collaborations.  The Muster will follow the same format as previous musters: live presentations, panels and demonstrations every 20 mins continuously over 24 hrs starting in Australasia and following the sun through to Europe/Africa and on to the Americas before the closing at dawn in Australasia.
